Write About How Plants Defend Themselves

When a Caterpillar bites into a plant, genes from the plant’s DNA are activated and a chemical warfare begins against the caterpillar. The chemical attracts insects and bugs like dragonflies, butterflies, etc.

Some plants can detect when an insect’s eggs land on it. And it lets out a poison to kill it. If a brussel sprout detects insect eggs on it, it puts out a chemical to attract female wasps. The wasp injects its own eggs into the caterpillar eggs. Over time the wasps larvae eats the tiny caterpillar as a snack.

Fun fact: plants can sense when another plant is growing beside them and they try to grow the other way.
